The otoscope provides illumination and magnification to assist with in ear examination.  Great for detect of problems like Swimmers ear and earwax build-up. It generally has a magnifying glass, a cone-shaped speculum at the end of a tube, and a light source. Great for examining throat or nasal passages as well.

Otoscopy is used to visually examine the ear canal and ear drum, or inner ear for any swelling, discharges, infections or any presence of foreign body. This procedure is conducted by ENT surgeon in clinic or on the hospital. It is just an examination and painless procedure. when patients complains of ear ache, fullness of ear or some discharge of pus in the ear the doctor examine the ear by using otoscope.
