ASC900 Flowtron Compression Unit Includes a Pair of Medium Size Calf Garments In Excellent Cosmetic and Working Order Cleaned and Tested and Disinfected Prior to Shipping Promptly Shipped  The intended use of this product is to help prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). The application of external pneumatic compression has two effects:  Augments venous blood flow velocity, thereby reducing stasis. Enhances fibrinolytic activity to reduce the risk of early clot formation.

The system is comprised of a pump that can be used in-conjunction with an extensive range of Arjo inflatable garments.

Sequential compression devices (SCDs), also known as lymphedema pumps, can have many benefits:

  • Blood flow: SCDs increase blood flow through veins, which can help restore blood flow to the heart and reduce swelling in the legs.
  • Blood clots: SCDs can help prevent blood clots, also known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or venous thrombosis, which can be serious or even fatal if they move to the lungs and cause a pulmonary embolism. SCDs are often used after major surgeries to reduce the risk of blood clots.
  • Immobility: SCDs can stimulate muscle activity in immobile patients, which can help prevent thrombosis. They can also be used to treat primary or secondary lymphedema, chronic venous stasis ulcers, and venous insufficiency.
  • Pain: SCDs can reduce pain.
  • Wound healing: SCDs can promote wound healing.
  • Infection: SCDs can help prevent infection
